All pilots at NetJets get the full type rating. FOs used to do recurrent every 6 months, but now they are going to 12 months for FOs and only CAs every 6 months.
The way the contract is worded, new hires are stuck once they are hired into a domicile until they are in the top 30% and become eligible for homebasing. There are rumors of a couple of guys being allowed to switch domiciles, but nothing in the contract says they have to let you do it. Hopefully that will change. I'm guessing it will be at least a couple of years before any real changes in the system and then only if the company absolutely is having to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find good pilots willing to live in the domiciles. With the way the regionals are fighting over eachother's codeshares (and taking concessions) and with so many problems in the airlines in general, I can see a lot more airline guys "seeing the light" and coming over to NetJets, even in the current domiciles. If that happens then there may be no changes to the current domicile system until a new contract is signed- most likely much more than 5 years from now since the current contract has 4.5 years left in it and I'm sure negotiations won't be the smoothest when the time comes.
