From my view, SWA has always been the doddering Luddite of airlines, preferring to stick with slide rules and bungee cords when there's artificial intelligence and WiFi. It finally bit them in a big way a few weeks ago but it has been a gathering storm for years.
I mean we print ATIS sheets like a group of 6 year olds, dutifully folding them up. We have that POS HGS system on a plane that can auto land. We are still printing flight releases when they are available on the iPads often hours prior. The entire system is being run like it was 1990. The "new" iPads can't even be charged properly on the plane and require silly and might I add costly work arounds to get things to function correctly. Dont get me wrong, I still am happy to be here and enjoy it for the most part, but we have some serious improvements to make technology wise to just come close to what the other airlines are operating with.

Hell even Spirit haw printers and they are an ULCC. Most of the regionals are using digital releases.

That new power plug is priceless. That's the best they could come up with? I have outlets in my house that can do more and look 1000 times better lol.
