I personally enjoy the gate hustle, slam the brake, make the plane rock back and forth a minimum of 3 times. 4 is preferred, 5 is varsity level. Run the shutdown checklist, and then if the jetway driver isn't there in 3 seconds, tell the FO to call ops and let them know we are here. "Umm. we just called them 3 seconds ago on the taxi in..." Pretty sure calling them a third time isn't going to make them appear any faster...

Oh, believe me….I wouldn’t have but the FO was trying to make a commute. I’m also fairly certain the OPS lady’s GAS was even lower than mine.

This is why I bid to avoid crossing East of the Mississippi River at all costs (amongst other things).

Meh, to each their own. Personally it’s maximum $ signs between checkin and release time. That covers about 80% of what I care about when I go to work not including the obvious……maximum safety.
