I think calling him out or saying he is a socialist is a bit of an overstep, A lot of people in the US (70% according to the last poll) are extremely frustrated with the war and sometimes we (I include myself in this group) vent this frustration on the troops instead of on who really is to blame (topic for another discussion in another place). I try to avoid even talking about the subject, so I would understand why the captain would not like to do it.

I understand that the troops are not to blame for the actions of their superiors, but feeling angry at them is a mistake I have made a few times out of frustration for the situation, and for that I truly am sorry.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with fit29's attitude. I think a lot of you are misreading what he is trying to say. Give the guy a break, he is just giving an honest view of his world. And no where did he ever say he was unappreciative.

We don't live in a black and white world and thanks, in part, to our military and framers of our great country, I am proud to live in the gray. People, including a lot of you guys, muddle the difference between anti-war and anti-military.
