I think calling him out or saying he is a socialist is a bit of an overstep, A lot of people in the US (70% according to the last poll) are extremely frustrated with the war and sometimes we (I include myself in this group) vent this frustration on the troops instead of on who really is to blame (topic for another discussion in another place). I try to avoid even talking about the subject, so I would understand why the captain would not like to do it.
I understand that the troops are not to blame for the actions of their superiors, but feeling angry at them is a mistake I have made a few times out of frustration for the situation, and for that I truly am sorry.
People, don't waste your time trying to show this individual how wrong he is... he won't get it. Unfortunately, we who served must listen to biggots, racists, and the fools who talk out thier a$$e$ because freedom of speech must apply to them as well.
As one who served in peacetime, I hold my highest praise for those who have gone in harms way. Thank you.
