If you wait tho the dynamics are shifting. United has hired over 4700 pilots in the last 3 years. With a projection of 2500 again in 2023. I just looked up a buddy who is 38 hired 2 months ago. He does not get below #2700 even at current retirement age of 65. Put another 2500 on top of that in 2023 some pilot 40 hired late 2023 may never crack 4500 with 25 years at UA.
