I have 4 buddies all 2-5 years with SWA in the process of trying to OR applying now.
If you wait tho the dynamics are shifting. United has hired over 4700 pilots in the last 3 years. With a projection of 2500 again in 2023. I just looked up a buddy who is 38 hired 2 months ago. He does not get below #2700 even at current retirement age of 65. Put another 2500 on top of that in 2023 some pilot 40 hired late 2023 may never crack 4500 with 25 years at UA.
I just did the same with a buddy of mine who is starting soon and is 40…..he will hold WB CA if he wants it but it will need a commute to the coast and will probably never be the highly sought after South Pacific flying.
don’t wait to make the jump from another airline unless you are ok being a NB CA or senior WB FO.
