That article is from a few years ago and points out with no great effort whatsoever that complacency led to the crash of Comair's scheduling system. Our current system being split been pilot and F/A isn't really relevant to the bigger issue of procrastination and complacency. The fact that it's written in freaking FORTRAN (late 70's technology) is disgraceful. They've had multiple opportunities to fix SBS. If Comair wants to become "cost-conscious and efficient" then I suggest management fix its infrastructure, starting with the crew scheduling system. Compared with other airlines, it's an embarassment.
