So you want to hold NJ to their end of the bargin that the union negotiated for (for stability) BUT the union wants NJ to renegotiate.....In good faith negotiations, once they are agreed to, shouldnt BOTH sides get the same "stability"? I think so....maybe your Union should have seen the pay that was on the horizon....but they didnt. IF the enconomy sucked and NJ wanted to pay less, would the Union be back at the table? Nope! Hypocrites!
Nobody is renaging or trying to renage on the contract. Has work stopped? No. Has the union refused to work under the current contract? No. Does the pilot group want to see improvements in the contract so that we can continue to attract/retain the best available and help the company succeed? We sure do. Can the union conduct protected activities such as informational picketing to enhance visibility of the situation at Netjets? They sure can. Can the company refuse to negotiate for the remainder of the contract term? They sure can. Both sides have to agree to come to the table during mid term bargaining.

However, the fact that we are in mid term bargaining has zero effect on the point that having a contract increases stability over not having one. If you have a counter point as to why not having a contract decreases the risk of degradation of your compensation package, I’m all ears. And let’s be 100% clear, there’s no way Netjets won’t come looking for concessions when the time comes. The contract is what stops them from forcing concessions on us. This is what I mean when I say stability. Let’s also be clear that there is nothing stopping the company from offering an increase to the compensation package at any time. I’m sure the union would glady entertain any proposals from the company whether or not we are actively bargaining.

You clearly have something against unions, and that’s fine. Which is why I am glad you found a company with similiar values. However, continually making an effort to trash this union is doing not helping those that started and contributed to this thread looking to contrast the two companies. I have attempted to provide brief examples of why I find value in having a union negotiated contract. How about you share what Flexjet has done to secure your future.
