Don't worry about the reserve. I was a line holder in the 50 before I moved over last fall. I was on reserve for 2 months and it was not that bad and I easily broke guarantee both months. When you finally get your line you'll see a difference. Yes, it's true you're getting long layovers, but there's where the trip rig usually kicks in and at least you get paid for it. I don't mind 30 hours in Ft Mayers or Miami, drinking beer on the beach and getting paid for it. In my opinion the flying is better. Feels that way anyway. Usually only 2-3 legs a day (with a 3.5 hrs break in JFK....) and when you're flying the 90 you'll almost every time get a jetbridge.
