Ha! So true!
Wife still works, not because she wants to but because a pilots job is as stable as an Antarctic ice shelf. Still have fist house we bought, because we can afford it on one paycheck. Kids still in public school, because most education comes not from the teachers but the diverse mix of socioeconomic families in the district. Still drive my hand-me-down car, because it cost less then a new one. My goal in life is not to be the richest person in the neighborhood, but to be the most content, single marriage, engaged father whos kids (I pray) never grow to dislike, discount and dismiss.
But that’s just me, I have seen too many of my parents peers make such terrible decisions that just destroyed their families for the sake of money, and none of them were ever happy. And after the divorce lawyers got their take they didn’t have the money either!
