Starved for attention, or you just can't help but snapping at the bait? Whatever it is, it's you.
When you say, "you guys" you're assuming a lot, not the least of which is whether anyone responding to you has a dog in the hunt, or any relation to you or that which surrounds you. One ought not assume.
Is "you guys" anything like "you people?"
I'll ask a question, seeing that you're in the answering mood, and starved for attention. You seem to assert that your union doesn't speak for you, and that you have no faith in the union. The union won't want what you wish to achieve (though you haven't said what you hope to get).
Your current contract came as the result of a union negotiation, yes? (say yes: it's rhetorical) Your current contract, at the date of signing, included industry-leading elements that came as the result of union negotiation, yes? (rhetorical: just nod. We haven't reached your question, yet. I'm telling you this, because you have a comprehension problem, Be patient).
You're part of a collective bargaining agreement, which, under the railway labor act, means that you are represented by one organization, and that you may not negotiate your own contract with your employer, correct? (keep nodding) Whether you have faith in your collective bargaining unit, you benefit from their representation, but you really don't believe that the union will benefit you? (here's where you can start to respond, because this is on you).
If you don't have any control in the matter (other than voting for or against any tentative agreements reached), are you better off supporting, or fighting against those legally designated to represent your interests? If you are under a collective bargaining agreement, do you adhere to it? Do you benefit from it? Do you think it's best to have your discussion in a public forum? Where do you usually fly your dirty laundry (other than here)?
Have you thrown your name in the ring to be the next volunteer, the next leader, the next negotiator, or are you content to do nothing but sit in the peanut gallery and lack faith? If you don't support, and don't have faith, then what do you have?
You're aware that faith is a verb, right? Go ahead and answer that one. It's not rhetorical.
