I think what he/she is saying is that after all the time put in, paying your dues, the best schedule to be attained was not worth the effort.
I can also vouch Comair being my third airline and the absolute worst in crew utilization and trips I have ever seen. This coming from experience at other airlines and having a taste of 15 to18 days off. Believe it or not Eagle was one of them, however the upgrade time as everyone is aware is astranomical. The tradeoff, great QOL for lower pay. At my other airline, I really didnt mind being an FO as I was going to stay there for the long haul anyway, but again QOL was great and upgrade times was avg. 3 years.
Times have changed and airlines change that is a given. However, employed at Comair, trips were really never productive, at least comparable to my previous 12 years of airline exp. To add salt to the wound the trips have become an embarrasment the last 4 years and getting worst. Having to wait 15 to 17 years to get more than 14 days off a month is an insult and a joke and I totally understand that aggravation. In 8 to 10 years from now, look back at all this BS and dysfunctional leadership we have here and ask your self was it worth it?
The options are limited right now, yes, but ALL the regionals are pretty equal now with upgrades so now the questions is, where do you want to be based and what QOL do you want while the industry rollercoaster continues? If an FO has been here longer than a 1.5 years I would not recommend leaving. Anything earlier, yes I would abandon ship just for the QOL, and again that is subjective. If you live in cvg then its a no brainer. But if you have been here for 1 year and commute from PHX or SEA, then thats different.
As for skywest being worst, I highly doubt their rsv is worst than ours. It probably makes sense to sit rsv there as opposed to our lottery rsv system here. I too have friends there and they are estatic to be there, plus residing in SLC...well nocomparison to cvg or jfk.

As for referring anyone to come here, I personally steer friends away, just my two cents.
