I have heard that our VP of Flight OPS has made the comment "If you want Delta rates, go to Delta." Well, it appears we've had several Captains and First Officers take him up on that. Congratulations to those guys and thanks to AL for the suggestion! The flood gates are about to open. All major airlines are looking at losing 50%-75% of their seniority list to planned retirements. Extending the age to 67 will do little to mitigate that. Obviously, the management group at Delta appears to be forward thinkers and recognizes it. United will not be far behind. LLC's will start offering Direct Entry Captain positions and the ACMI's will be stuck with the leftovers if they don't get smarter. This old an tired strategy being employed by this current management group is laughable at best. We are losing pilots at the cyclic rate, so dangling a carrot colored 777 cargo turd has had zero effect. In fact, I think it has just reinforced the pilot group's resolve.
