The trolls here are a particular breed of childish, but the fan club is an even more puzzling lot to me. (You realize that since fadec’s brand of humor requires anonymity, a thread highlighting his troll status is the worst thing you could possibly do for him.) Further, those who find entertainment value in the outrage show they create tend to be ironically one sided about it. (They love a good “diversity=racism” troll, but melt at the “fire all anti-vaxxers” ones; or vice-versa.)
For most of us, trolls are like the kid who keeps coming to the grown-up party & trying to join the conversation. We’re trying to keep a conversation together & we’re generally unamused by their attempts to derail it. As with the dinner party, those most entertained by the toddler are typically those who weren’t really keeping up at the big-kid table to begin with. Can’t have a circus without clowns, though, I suppose.
