jokes aside no, I made my decision based on how my last three tours have gone and how our negotiations are stagnant.

I have literally flown fatigued, aggravated and been kept at the hotel to the last second for nothing when I could have been home early on go home day.

Throw in the bs hot spare from 10pm to 2am or 8pm to midnight and that’ll do it. I despised getting into uniform and going out to the plane to keep it ready “in case there is a flight” or “you’re backing up flights” then sitting and rotting in the FBO for hours only to go back to the hotel right after. Sure I got 3 hours “flight time” but those three hours really only count after you’ve already had 10 hours of flying.

it also took my wife and mentor to knock some sense into me and saying “this is what you have worked for, don’t let this opportunity pass” in a nutshell.

If a legacy calls, I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it, and if I can have a great and happy career at SWA then so be it I’ll stay.

side note, never liked Dumb & Dumber. I am more a Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau fan.
