You need to open a cowling to find a paint chip or a dent?
Story about bonding straps. My previous airline had a plane that flew around for a while. It had a broken bonding strap in the right MLG. No-one bothered to write it up. I saw it on a preflight and I called maintenance just to mention it, and they found out that it was a required strap and part of the 25.581 certification for the plane, and the plane was not airworthy. It could not even be ferried without it.
And no, it wasn't part of a checklist directly, but it was under an umbrella of "check". "Right Main Landing Gear Area - Check" to be exact.
Yet here you are, not writing it up because as you would say, "Jag bryr mig inte".
