My point is that part of the problem with DAL-NWA from the DAL side is that there are very junior people holding widebody F/O at DAL where this is a much more senior position at NWA. A CAL vs. UAL merger would be even more disparate, with 3-year CAL Captains potentially becoming junior to UAL F/O's who are presently 7 more years from the left seat. The guy who is about to be senior enough at CAL to hold EWR 737 Captain suddenly finds himself years from the left seat using DOH or ratio, which certainly has a negative impact on his career expectations. That is going to be uglier than the problem we're grappling with at DAL-NWA for sure.
I see what you are getting at but since there is no national seniority list that should not happen. And while there is no way to make everyone happy relative seniority seems the fairest way to go. By straight DOH junior CAL captains would be crushed- lets hope by that time there will be some lessons learned from the current DAL-NWA fiasco.
