Scoop
Scoop, I agree with relative seniority. As a 87 hire at NWA, I believe Rel senioroty would mix me in somewhere with the 93-94 DAL guys. Fine with me, if it means we all get a usable seniority number and can bid as openings become available without fences etc. As I have stated before this works for probably all but the bottom 700 or so at NWA and maybe 1000 at DAL. A different methodology would need to be established to ensure that in a shrinking airline the 2001 hire at NWA who was just recalled doesn't hit the street before the 2006 new hire at DAL. But I'm sure we can come up with various COAs and make an appropriate power point to both groups

Wow,

That's surprising. I most def. don't think that's fair at all.

FYI, Delta hired until Jan 92. Then there was no hiring, then 3+ years of furlough. We started hiring again in fall 1996. That lasted until summer 2001, followed by 5+ years of furlough, etc. We started hiring again a few months ago.

Wonder if Reddog would object being mixed in with the '96 hires?

Who cares if relative seniority would let him fly a 757 as a Captain vs. a DC-9.

He is an A320 Captain not a DC9 Captain.

Sorry. He can be an 757 captain or stay an A320 captain. Either way he wins.

They'll be crushed by relative seniority too. That's why it's a mess. You'd have to go to an equipment ratio, which comes with it's own complications.
