Yeah, that's hilarious. Let's do that. Since I would expect to have a terrible career at UAL, let's throw me on the bottom 1/3 there. At least my expectations would be met. Why should I be penalized for working at a company that's making money and afforded me the opportunity of wide-body flying from the get-go? It is very depressing that we might have to combine with a flawed business model with poor management. Even worse is that we will be left with no choice, or be left out in the cold.
So, instead of being lucky you must be one of the few
good airline pilots. I mean you have to be good to plan your life so as to get hired with the airline that does all of these great things for you from the get-go.
Might I remind you that 10 years ago United was
THE premiere airline to work for. Widebody flying from the got-go? They were putting new hires into the 747-400 based in Honolulu and you would have jumped at the chance to work for them. Especially after they got that HUGE contract in 2000.
I think you would be better served by realizing that nothing in this business remains the same.
I'm reminded of a s/o I flew with who in the early 60's left American for a chance to fly for Braniff (The first one)....
