Many people here seem to have no idea how cutthroat a company will be when faced with the choice to cancel flights for staffing or not brutalize their pilot group. We would routinely get extended days outside of our original footprint. I once picked up a day trip turn and didn’t come home until three days later. No wx, no mx, just a company that couldn’t keep up their staffing.

just some food for thought, you can have your days off taken away due to a reassignment an infinite number of times here. They will absolutely rob Peter to pay Paul. They don’t care if that gets you pulled off a trip in two weeks, scheduling will begin to worry about the next day then eventually the next hour and they’ll burn everything down in their path to do so. This needs to be capped. Previous airline was no more than 10 times a year. The majority hit that cap.

sure, you get them back, but that doesn’t help when you miss little Suzy’s piano recital or Billy’s football game or that cruise you bought tickets for. Protection needs to be in the next contract.
