Forget about how this helps our/their pilot group, how would a move like this be a good business move for DL? Isn't that what really matters in the end, how much money this would save? Management isn't gonna pull in a regional because it feels good to everyone to have all flying done in-house.
It will be a smart business move when they don't have enough pilots to fly the 700/900's because the pool of CFI's are bypassing EDV and going straight to the LCC's, so if DL wants to keep a 76 seater on a specific route, they will need to bring them up to mainline where someone will be happy to fly them at mainline rates and benefits.
