Once AA regional 50 seat RJ CAs started making $600+/hr and LCAs started making $1200+/hr in premium pay those wells pretty much dried up. Other regionals worked to match pay so UAL started prioritizing hiring from their next best sources of pilots that hurt the competition… AA and DAL regional FOs and ULCC FOs.
Before that, the majors will bring all regional flying under their direct employee. Solves the problem of keeping CA for regional planes. Can take NB FO and offer upgrades to RJ CA.
