If you take a job at Omni, you have zero protection from the idiocy until you are typed. Management knows this and shafted a bunch of good dudes! Pilots are leaving and in fact have been encouraged to do so by upper management. "If you want Delta rates, go to Delta" is a quote from our VP of Ops. I would not recommend Omni to anyone at this point. If you cannot get on at a major take the $100K sign on bonus at a regional.
AND take a look at ATSG's (owns Omni) stock performance over the past year. It's in the crapper. This is not a good place to be at the moment.
No different from the majors. They’ll hire, fill classes, train, and push the red button without remorse for the folks being put on the street. The Good New and Bad News Joke, as the toad comes to the classroom, or simulator briefing room, just be fore a rating ride. “The bad news is you are all furloughed… The good news, is I’m still on the payroll”. Same airline… different paint job.
