We use to have two Capt on flights over 12 hours until some jerk senior Capt’s would bid RF2 with nice DH then show up to the plane and tell the junior Capt who’s trip it was that he is senior and he is the Capt and signing for the plane. Took a few incidents of this happening and the company said fine it is not an FAA requirement for two Capt only on a new route for the first three months.
The end result next bid had 80 less Capt and 80 more FO’s. Nice job by a few special Capt to screw over everyone else with less upgrades.
