It says way more than "yea we are mad." Read the email again. It's basically the union telling pilots on property to leave for a better company, and prospective new hires to reconsider. I don't think they are allowed to say it directly, but "
sends an ominous message to our current and prospective pilots and simplifies the analysis for pilots who are considering a career here. " is a pretty obvious intent.
Personally, I love it. And I am/was an outspoken critic of TA '23 and the "salesmen" approach that you describe. But credit where it's due.
