At least in Atlanta, you used to see layovers there.The difference was how the pairings were constructed and how those cities were included. Besides the inclusion of 5 leg days, the biggest difference I saw was the long turns pushing max duty and max block on the last day typically after a short layover or circadian flip. The last day “turn” had been a layover in the past with one leg back.

Prior to the optimizer, I held better trips at 65% than I could at 20% after the fact.
