Any new hires or pilots considering American please note that there is an active grassroots movement to join back with ALPA. On June 1, 2023, The APA union BOD ignored the unanimous approval to move to phase 2 of the merger process. This came after the AAMEC they chose to see what a merger agreement would look like between APA and ALPA said there would be no impact to current contract negotiations. The APA BOD is not acting on behalf of pilots. Please come to American with your eyes wide open. Please share with your fellow pilots that there is change trying to happen from within. If you’re new please share with your new hire group chats. Anyone already at American can tell you more if you ask. The pilots of American want to raise the industry and the old wAAys aren’t cutting it anymore. We are doing what we can, but many other carriers and pilots may not know what’s happening.
