Virgin America may not take off till 2007

Virgin America Inc. might not begin flying until 2007 because of delays in the federal approval process, the startup airline's chief executive said Wednesday.

CEO Fred Reid said that rival airlines such as Continental Airlines Inc. have submitted numerous objections to the U.S. Department of Transportation about Virgin America's application for flight certification. Those objections have bogged down the review process, he said
