If you steal from the company (like a headset off a CPO door, for example), DALPA can - and SHOULD - cut you loose, and you deserve to be fired. Yes, it’s happened. Those 4 747 pilots willfully stole, repeatedly, from the company
for years. Which
cost the rest of us as a result, in real consequences (SC to the max for a whole summer), in future goodwill from the company, not to mention any intangible effects.
“Representing you” is not a blank check to be abused.
There is a limit. For “normal” things, I would absolutely agree. But this ain’t even in the same universe. No, I don’t want my union to waste effort, energy, or resources on you if you
willfully steal, repeatedly, and cause the rest of us to “have to wear diapers” as a result. I was, and am, righteously indignant. Sorry, not sorry.
