We'd need more details of what exactly scheduling is trying to do. If they want to put you into rest in base for less than 18 hours and then have you report for a trip then that is a completely illegal assignment.
It's just a hypothetical.

Let's say they try this:

SC from 2000 to 0500
Assigned trip at 0500 that has a 12hr duty day and starts at 1900.

It was assigned during SC, but has adequate rest but is more than the max RAP+FDP but less than the 18hr LC call-out. This is an illegal assignment?
