1) Each carrier will have a merger assessment to pay for the legal costs of the SLI. I'm sure your 300ish pilots will be able to raise enough funds to adequately present your case against 15,000 or so pilots. LOL.
2) ALPA's merger policy (you guys are ALPA so we'll go with their criteria) in no particular order, the following three factors need to be considered:
Career expectations
Longevity
Status and Category
Breeze pilots' career expectations are capped at A220 CA. That aircraft is in American's bottom pay band. How many American aircraft are flown by mainline that are in the bottom pay band? Hint: less than one. Based on career expectations, that's a staple.
Longevity - How long has Breeze been in business? Where would Breeze pilots be slotted based on longevity? That's your best argument for not being stapled.
Status and Category- See career expectations. Another vote for the stapler.
McCaskill-Bond doesn't change these facts.
If you guys were able to get much more than a staple, chances are most American equipment would be fenced off for a few years; longer for widebodies.
But sure, I don't know how mergers happen; you're the expert on mergers and Breeze's profitability.
What question? What does that have anything to do with anything? Also it looks like you learned something on this breeze thread. By googling how mergers happen today. It’s not by bringing out a big staple but by attempting to do what’s fair. Meaning number 1 A220 CA is not stapled below the bottom new hire at AA. Good luck to the folks that have to spend a 4 day with you as well.
