Check Airmen are the mentors not line captains. They expect to have a competent F/O sitting next to them.
Once again, as long as it’s SOP/FM/ATC compliant, just because someone doesn’t fly the airplane like you like to fly it doesn’t mean they’re incompetent.
You should probably brush up on those as well since mentoring is a company and FAA required component of being a captain.
