get ready folks. It’s coming. I guarantee he is about to unload even more.
it’s a tactic pure and simple. Keep that in mind when he pours out even more doom and gloom.
he is simply trying to negotiate a lower contract!!!
the economy…sorry Barry the DL CEO called you out on that and even trolled you about your lazy work from home employees.
Bookings? Of course our loads are light, as soon as summer is over they have ALWAYS dropped. The holidays historically have never been our best time either. Summer and spring break are our biggest time.
Putting applicants in a pool. Right!!! The current system bid is for 56 new hires, what did they put 4? Just so they could put out that email, knowing full well it would spread like wild fire.
the ULCC has not even come close to its max potential in the US. If we are loosing booking beyond normal right now it’s 100% Barry biffles fault.
so when they come spread more doom and gloom get ready, because within a month maybe two afterwards they will present an offer to alpa. It will be a little better than what we have now, but it will be a terrible offer. Don’t fall for the fear.
Pretty sure very few in the C-suite are even thinking much about the pilot contract yet, let alone causing seismic shifts in the stock price just to scare the pilots by going on TV. Interestingly enough, I never heard him on TV trying to scare the pilots last time. He never threatened to defer orders or send them to other carriers or any kind of doom and gloom in public. He kept all the posturing to the negotiating room. I would also hazard a guess he knows that pouring out too much doom and gloom too early on will just accelerate the attrition to other carriers although I will reserve the right to be wrong on that one. The smart move on management's part in the early stages is to put a positive spin on negotiations by talking about the TAs on less significant areas of the contract, hence the videos they've put out.
