They must be relying on pilots who are out on medical or have a reason they need to be home every night. Those pay rates are close to what regional airlines pay by year 2 for PIC's and senior SIC's.
In 2018 I interviewed at AA (I flew for USAirways for 13 years) for A320 Sim Instructor but found out my PBGC pension would be frozen if I worked for AA. And I was capped on how much I could earn with my Loss of Medical policy so between those two it wasn't worth it.
Unfortunately, AFAIK AA is the only Sim Center here in the CLT area.
