550's headed west
Perhaps I ran on a bit so let me just clarify. The 200's which are presently flown by Skywest are old and tired. United has stated that the old 50 seat jets (200's) are going to be retired. Skywest owns the 550's (70 seat 700's configured for 50 seats which have a first class and ample room for carry on) which Go Jet is flying. Go Jets 550's are a nice setup for passengers. They do have a problem with their range but can be used on shorter routes very effectively. Go Jet has not impressed anyone with their track record as Delta has already booted them. Now we find out Skywest is going to require all there 700 crews to be dual trained on the 550. It only makes sense that the 200's are going to be retired and replaced with the 550's. United wins, they get rid of the 20 aircraft failure Go Jet and Skywest wins as the 550's are much more passenger friendly than the 200's. Not only does this make sense but it is the only thing that makes sense. Unfortunately, if you are presently employed by Go Jet this is not what you want to hear but now would be the time to move on and start over somewhere else as they will do what they did to TSA. 1 week notice and see ya.
