Ask yourself how your life has been since the contract was passed. Did you all notice how poorly the company started to treat the pilot group as soon as we voted in the new contract? Unfortunately, most people did not take the time to review the contract, because they relied upon our MEC to do their due diligence and present a worthy document. People trusted the MEC to do the right thing and look after our best interest, but unfortunately, they stabbed all of us in the back. We need a clean slate and anyone that served in the present MEC needs to be sent packing, in order for the new team to proceed unimpeded. Give some serious consideration as to why the present contract was voted in, when you reflect back on the people that brought you this insulting document, then vote to fix it. The Mossman slate brings a new perspective to the table, and moving forward I encourage everyone to think about the future.
For the new hires that are eligible to vote, you need to understand that the current contract gave the first-year employees a pay cut, this was due to the increased insurance costs. The insult of the one-percent pay raise did not cover the new medical premiums. Consider this, is this really the leadership you want moving forward? If your answer is no, then be sure everyone running for a position on the MEC is replaced.
