Long story short, my sim partner fell asleep during the checkride (not a joke) and I blew through single engine RNAV mins. Went back the next morning and did one V1 cut to SE RNAV and was good to go.
I am currently in the Aviate program but my date is years away. I have pretty good connections within United that I could lean on if I must, but trying not to do that. I'm also prior enlisted military with a good record there.
Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. -TPP
Sorry to hear about your sim partner. But definitely don’t go in with the mindset that he’s the one who caused the bust. HR and the interviewing CA don’t want to hear blame, but more about what you’ve learned about the experience and how that has shaped you going forward. You probably are aware of this, however for some they still need to hear it. It’s surprising how many people go in and blame others for something in their background.
It certainly will help to get a few more 121 rides/MVs under your belt so they can see that it was a one time thing, and not that it is going to be a pattern.
Aviate also seems to slow the hiring off the street if you’re in it, so you most likely still have some time to get some more experience under your belt. Keep chugging along and best of luck.
