These guys here have been telling themselves they’re the pinnacle of the industry for so long that they’ve actually come to believe it. There are so many issues that need to be addressed/fixed within the CBA and with company behavior to make this a comparable job to the legacy peers, I think it’s a pipe dream to believe that it’s going to happen any time soon or even at a reasonable pace. With no growth planned and FDX mgmt actually telling all of us that they plan to move freight the cheapest way possible, the suck is here for the long term. You can literally go to DL or UA and complete training in three months, be flying and have a line in a few more. All the while, new pilots are coming in below you. Plus, muddling around AOC in MEM or IND for nights on end like an Anchorage zombie at 3am is an experience like no other. I came here with years and years of experience and yes, I did read the contract prior to starting. So before some a$$hat starts with that nonsense, reading a contract before you join a pilot group is vastly different than living under it for a couple of years. Wish it had turned out to be all I hoped.
Extremely underrated post right here.
I've flown with so many old timers that admit the good days are gone ... "Death by a thousand cuts" over the years. Yet some of these 43%'ers just can't grasp it.
Can't wait to see what Raj's neat acronym continues to spell for our future. Digital is the first one. Whats next for R?... Reduced pilot ops?
"The company would never do that."
