Had this debate with myself a couple weeks ago. Went on widget seniority to see how long it would take me to hold the junior widebody (excluding 75/76) CA slot at Delta as a new hire: for the A330 out of JFK it was 31 years. Not a dig at the earning potential of a 320 CA or A350 FO by any means, but that's a long time to be waiting for the opportunity to trade your Christmases and Thanksgivings for widebody captain pay
