He is correct about the healthcare, JBLU options are inferior to NK and hopefully that can be improved on.

As far as you flexing about a pay raise, come on. There is a reason your company is overpaying to historic levels to acquire NK, and it’s safe to say JBLUs own future wouldn’t be roses without those planes and growth. So sure, NK will thank you for those “large pay raises” (which it isn’t) as soon as JBU thanks NK for not getting swallowed up by the big 4

Like it or not, both airlines need each other to survive. Maybe not survive in the sense of going away, but survive as in being able to compete, grow, and be successful.
The health plan I subscribe to is better than most of my six-figure professionals acquaintances' health plans, but I'd be open to improvements so long as they aren't to the detriment of other gains.

As far as the reason for the acquisition (your word)... JB simply cannot get deliveries fast enough from the factories. Plus this engine issue is going to be a problem.

I've been perusing your contract and it seems it will indeed be a large raise, and I'm happy for you.

One little nugget I found in the Spirit contract which I think sets the tone for the entire document is found in the Hotel Minimum Standards section (5.A.2.a.7) which states hotels must be "within walkable proximity to acceptable chain restaurants, e.g., Applebee’s or Chili’s." Applebees or Chilis may be acceptable to your clientele, but it shouldn't be acceptable to major airline pilots.
