The problem is that there was a mistake in the original transcribing of what CE Woolman wrote. He said "Always keep your dills" because he was a big pickle fan. He never ate a meal without them. Eggs and gherkins. Soup and bread and butters. Roast lamb and spicy. But his favorite were dills.
It originally was just a memo to the catering department when they were looking at cutting costs. He said "You can give everyone boxed meals for all I care, especially the greedy pilots, but always keep your dills." Someone in the archives department wrote it down wrong when they were going through all his papers for the flight museum. These things happen.
