Wrong. AA is in a worse financial position than NWA. Measured by cash on hand as a multiple of monthly expenses NWA is (or was) second behind B6. AA is 4th but in no position to buy anything. See threads above that pre-suppose that AMR might have to file for bankrupcy.

NWA has $3 billion on cash right now. (maybe $2.8 million after the quarter). From what I understand, the $4 billion and $6 billion loss that NWA and DAL posted was largely accounting for loss of value to the stock, not from operating the airline.


No personal attack, but just expect that whenever you propose chopping up someones airline or question its long term survival, expect to have their employees push back hard. Who do you work for so we can make something up for you.....
