Anybody that is younger than 45 should be getting out no matter what happens. Why stay when you can be at a Legacy holding CA very quickly or get a nice WB line as FO... There are alot of young junior CA's that will sit reserve for a lonnggg time... senior FO's wont be upgrading either. Heck even 50yrs old should be thinking about leaving, you still have 15yrs to go and will be making more $$$ than you do now after 1yr, better retirement.. the attrition will get even worse here soon.
Remove your emotions from the equation and think about the facts:
Yes one could hold legacy CA fairly quickly, but probably not in a desirable base and one will be junior in seat for quite some time (we all know it is true)
Anyone in the top half of the NK seniority list, especially those living in base in FL, is going to enjoy a nice career with
seniority and all of the benefits that come with it (pending merger approval, which we will know shortly)
I'm starting to wonder if all of these accounts encouraging pilots to leave are management shills. It's almost like the whipsaw of the regionals back in the day.
"Hey everyone, quit and give up your seniority at carrier A to start over at carrier B on first year pay because the upgrades are better here..."
