I second DWC CAP10 about checking the trip coverage report for what time it was assigned. If after 1200, it’s not a legal assignment. This doesn’t apply in your situation, since you looked 26 hours prior to original, but if within 24 hours of the original report, it’s also not legal.
But if the pilot chose to a) look at their schedule < 24hrs out and b) chose to acknowledge said rotation....
