A couple of years ago I recommended bailing. That would have been a good time to bail. The next best time is now.
You can wait another year until the F9 ship is listing badly and run to a lifeboat. That's still a good time to bail, but not as good as now.
You can walk over to United and be in the left seat again right off of probation. It took me more than 18 years and I took the first left seat I could get. And yes, I was commuting to reserve for a couple of years. It's not as bad as some make it out to be.
If you're worried about your retirement, you should be gone. Year 2 CA pay is $40 an hour higher than what you're making now. And with this engine issue, do you really think that F9 will see a new contract any time soon? I'll take the under on that one.
