While certianly few stay forever... EVERY jet regional out there have guys and gals on the seniority list that have been there well over 10 years..... EAGLE is full of them.... We have 80 or so at RAH... with some with over 20 years ......
As the years progress I think you will see more CAREER Regional pilots... for various reasons.... many stay because their QOL is excellent and they are doing fine cash wise....others stay because for whatever reason they may not me marketable to a major legacy type carrier...
Will the vast majority of jet regional pilots stay there? probably not..... but there are no absolutes and there are certainly regional guys who are for whatever reason content with their current employer.
I do believe BB got into CAL flying hoping to get scope relaxed.... will it happen probably not.... could it happen... sure.... Hell I was around Eagle in the early days when APA pilots said NO eagle pilot will EVER fly a jet.... the business has morfed into what it is.... and its doing so at a rapid rate right now. For any of us to sit here and think we know exactly what the situation will be in 18 months or 5 years is pure conjecture. If there is no additional scope relief from any of the mainline pilot groups they better get off their high horse like Airways pilots did and agree to fly mid size 90-110 seat regional type jets for a reasonable price. Good luck to all especially the guys at XJT.
