I get how the current system is a cost saving feature for the company. That was my point about OOBWS over GS reducing the aggregate value of the PWA. I won't begrudge anyone exercising a contractual right, but I have also politely shared my viewpoint face to face on the matter. Honestly, I’d just laugh if someone shared that viewpoint with me in that manner. By the same logic, in-base WS also decreases the aggregate value of the PWA. If we really wanted to extract maximum value, we’d all refuse GS as well and only fly GSWC, or IA (after dropping well below the trigger).
I don’t live in any base and don’t care which base I fly out of. I sometimes drop some or all of my schedule, then WS/OOBWS whatever rotations work best. We already have a contractual mechanism that restricts excessive WS and OOBWS from devaluing our contract - the WS pickup limit.
