That might seem logical, but it’s actually quite opposite of what you want to do. Go to a multi-carrier regional and get apps out ASAP. A wholly-owned is going to meter their flow to mainline.
If going to a WO choose your second choice of major and go to one of their WO companies (worse comes to worse you can eventually flow). That will likely get you to where you want to end up faster than going to a WO owned by your first choice. The big 3 will mine the WO's of their competitors before hiring from any other source.
