Im going A330 NYC and they don't require a visa, even though DTW flies to PVG I think.
Yes, You can still get the second passport by going through CIBT, but if your base and equipment does not require it but you must pay for it yourself. DTW does require the visa on the 330, but only flies the 350 to be PVG.
